Paker's 3rd birthday

Parker turned 3 on December 29 and yes I am now just

getting to posting it. It is amazing how quickly the time

goes by. I have to remind myself to slow down and take

time to play and visit with him- my homework can always

wait. I call him my snuggle bug because he loves to snuggle,

especially at bedtime when I am reading him stories.

He wanted to a dinosaur cake for his birthday so this

is what I came up with after looking online-thank goodness

for technology!

Halloween

We all went as the Denver Broncos for Halloween. Brooklyn was a cheerleader and Parker was a football player. Justin and I just wore our jerseys. I actually put Parker in a Simba costume for my school Halloween carnival but it got so warm the day of Halloween that I convinced him to go as a football player.

I know I am so bad at updating my blog but I do appreciate those of you who do make the time to update yours. I love seeing and reading how everyone is doing. I am on track break and in between taking classes, so I figured I better take advantage of both kids sleeping right now and update my blog. I finally decided to take some me time the other day and went and got my hair done- cut and colored. I thought it was time to do something with my hair besides put it up in a ponytail, which is so easy when you have 2 kids and have to get ready for work. I'll post a picture of it one of these days.

I can't believe Brooklyn is already 5 months old. I have really enjoyed spending time with her and Parker during my track break. She is a very happy baby and unlike Parker, falls asleep on her own. I am now waiting for her to sleep through the night.

Parker just loves getting into all the baby stuff. Sometimes I think he enjoys it more than he did when he was an infant, either that or he wants to drive me crazy.

This is Parker's favorite backpack. He and his dad went Mother's Day shopping and came back with a present for me and Parker. Parker go this backpack and I got a Bronco's bag to match. Guess I better become a fan.

Cousin time

My sister Natalie and her family surprised us and came into town last weekend. Parker was so excited to see them. When we got to my mom's house, he ran in and gave them all a big hug.

Here is Parker with one of his favorite cousins. Brock is my sister Dawn's oldest son. Parker justloves going to Aunt Dawn's to play with the boys. Sometimes I think he forget he is only 2 and can't do everything the big boys are doing.

One would think I could keep my blog updated since I have been on maternity leave. Well I decided to get crazy and started 1 of 5 online classes in order to get my library science endorsement. YEP! I am crazy. Now I have to discipline myself to do homework in my spare time and not play on the Internet while my kiddos are napping. I am in between classes so I thought I better take this time and update my blog. Here are some random pictures of the kids.

I have been married almost 4 years and we finally got a professional family picture taken. Justin is not big on taking pictures so who knows when the next family one will be taken. Besides that, he hates the long wait it takes to get them done and picked out. I thought they turned out cute and was excited to finally get them taken.

I am just happy Parker loves his sister.

Big Brother

Parker is such a great big brother. He loves his sister and is very helpful. Whenever he is near her, he likes to hold her hand and give her kisses. It's so cute to look back in the car and see him holding her hand. If she's sad, he reminds me to feed her or he will give her her binky.

Cousin in town

It just hasn't been the same since my sister Natalie and her family moved to Salt Lake. Her son Jack is only a month older than Parker. They always had so much fun together, so we were sad to see them go. It would especially be nice to have them around now that the boys are getting older. They came to visit a few weeks ago. Here are some pictures of them playing at our house and visiting at Grandma's. We told Parker we were going to Utah this weekend. He got excited and said," Jack, Hannah, Alexis." Then Justin had to break it to him that we were just going to St. George. It was sad, but cute how excited he was before we had to break his excitement.

I finally got some pictures of Brooklyn with her eyes open. She has no problem sleeping the day away. I'm trying to get her to stay awake more during the day so that we can enjoy more sleep at night. Ya, she doesn't appreciate it when I do that. Parker is a geat brother and loves to be helpful. When she cries he is quick to tell me, "feed her." He will even get me my nursing pillow whether I need it or not. He gets me her wipes and diapers and the says," EEW, stinky." I just love him. He is such a funny little boy and he continues to amaze me with his smartness. I took 12 weeks maternity leave from work and am loving every moment of it!

A mind of her own

So much for thinking I could plan the day of my delivery. As you all know I thought for sure I would go over like I did with Parker. Yea, was I wrong. Monday morning I got up and ready for work like always, feeling great and ready to go another 10 days before I delivered. I dropped Parker off at Grandma Gimbels. Then not even an hour into my teaching, around 9:30ish, I felt a warm flow, which some of you might know what I am talking about. Anyway, I continued to teach through the morning putting the thought of it being my water breaking aside. Besides it was a gush of water and I was going to be a week late, so it couldn't be my water. After teaching the rest of the morning from my chair, I took my students to lunch, told the office I thought my water broke and gave my doctor a call. She told me to go to the hospital. Luckily, I had all my plans for the next 13 weeks ready to go for my long term sub, however I had a few things to get in order before I left. So after lunch and while my students were at PE, I did a few last minute things, while trying not to flood the hallways. Justin and I got to the hospital around 1:30pm and at 8:35pm Brooklyn Nicole was born. It was a much easier labor than with Parker. Here are a few pictures, not the greatest but I'll hopefully get some cuter ones up later. ha/ha

Parker loves getting ready to go to church, but once it is time for nursery, he says"don't want, don't like." He went the first time without any problems, but after that he will not go in by himself. He even knows what to say or do to get the leaders to come get us. So, lately Justin or myself stay in with him. He loves kids but for some reason is not excited about nursery. And I thought I'd be able to enjoy some quiet class time before this new little one would arrive. I know, what was I thinking.

Christmas has come and gone and I was a slacker and did not get my blog updated. Sorry, but I am sure you expect that of me and so there is no let down. ha/ha I decided I better hurry and do a quick update before baby number 2 gets here. She is do next Thursday, but I am expecting to be late like I was with Parker.

Parker turned one at the end of December. He was so excited to open presents, sing and eat cake. In fact, a few days later it was Justin's mom's birthday and Parker got excited thinking it was still his. I, with the help of my husband, attempted to make his birthday a footbal theme with a football cake and field. Yea, we definitely aren't in the cake decorating business. I can not believe he is already 2. I am sure, like the rest of you, time just seems to fly by with your kids. I was getting a little sad thinking I wouldn't be able to spend as much time with Parker once his sister arrives. Is that normal once more kids come along, or am I just crazy? I am sure I will need lots of helpful tips from you have more than 1 kid in the house. I hear it's a lot different, so feel free to send your advice.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, my brother Johnny got married. We were all so excited for him. He was the last one in the family to get married. He married someone from Vegas so all the festivities were here, which worked out nice, especially since we already had lots of family in town for the Thanksgiving holiday. The reception was beautiful. Here are some pictures of us at the temple and reception. Lucky for my sister Natalie and I, we got to take lots of pictures with us being pregnant. At least at the last family wedding, we were both barely showing, unlike this time around.

Let it snow, let it snow

A week before Christmas it snowed all afternoon for a few hours. I had work, but no students due to parent conferences all day. Thank goodness because I don't think my students would have been able to focus knowing it was snowing outside. To many of you snow is no big deal, but to us here in Henderson it doesn't happen, especially like this, EVER. Before leaving work, I had to scrape the snow off my car. I never would have thought to keep my snow scraper from college, so I had to find something else in the car that would work. Once I arrived at my parents to pick up Parker, my dad would not let me drive home and insisted that Justin come pick us up. We eventually made it home and Justin passed plenty of inexperience snow drivers on his way to get me. The next day we had a snow day and no school, which has never happened in my life time. Some of you I'm sure are thinking no big deal, but that day it snowed here, we made history.

I have been trying to play around with my blog background and now I can't get figure out why I can't change it. Hopefully, you won't have to see this boring layout for too long. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I know I am behind on updating my blog, again, but my goal is to refresh it before I go back to work. I'll attempt to do it today during Parker's nap.

Staying busy and having fun

While we were there, we took Allie and Parker to a gym during open hour. They had so much fun running around, playing on the ropes and jumping on the trampolines. Being 5 months pregnant, I didn't do too much but watch and take pictures. From the pictures, you can see Parker has no fear of heights, unlike his mother.

My sister works one day a week, so Justin and I got to babysit her kids one day while we were there. Launa is 9, Luke is 7, Allie is 4 and Todd and Ryan are 5 months old. It wasn't too bad and didn't get crazy until everyone was home from school and we tried to get homework and piano done before Tricia got home after 5. I don't know how she does it. Launa and Luke were at school and Allie had preschool in the morning, so that just left us with Parker and the twins in the morning. However, we did stay plenty busy and I was glad to have Justin's help, even if he tries to show it's an easy task.

Halloween in Texas

I guess I better get my Halloween update out before Thanksgiving gets here. I am on track break this month, so Justin, Parker and I took a family trip to Texas to visit my older sister Tricia and her family. We arrived on Halloween and left a week later. Parker had so much fun trick or treating, just as many of your own did. I think I was more tired by the end of the night than he was. It must have been from having to take a flight of stairs in order to get to each house, or having to walk up long drive ways while carrying Parker so we wouldn't get too far behind his cousins.

No Fear!

I don't know if this is just a boy thing, but Parker seems to have no fears. He is constantly climbing onto things. He loves to climb onto my tub and play in the sink. He usually turns the water on low so it can't be heard. I came home from work recently to find that his new thing to do when Dad is not paying attention is to actually climb in the sink and play in the water. He has also started climbing onto our dresser and then sits there with a grin on his face. Parker also has no fear of water. He loves taking baths and always reminds us to turn on the jets to make more bubbles. Besides loving water and climbing, he loves to hide. We have an empty cupboard in the kitchen that he loves to crawl in and yell "find me, mom." He definitely keeps me busy and entertained.

Parker can be such a BIG help, even when it is not needed. It's always hard to get any cleaning or cooking done when he is awake. He always wants to push the vacuum or get a chair and help me at the stove. Last night he kept insisting on getting a paper towel to help me with the bathrooms. Here are some pictures of him helping me make dinner. He went and got my apron on and then started pulling out the pans.

I am sure everyone thinks they have the smartest kid, but I am always amazed at what Parker says and does. He has developed such a cute little personality. He definitely keeps me on the run. He is always getting into something.

A love for Reeses

Parker loves chocolate. Justin loves Reeses, so any time he was eating one he would give Parker a bit. Now when he tries to give him a bite, Parker insists on having his own. His dad acts tough, but he can't ever say no so Parker usually gets his own. His dad also introduced him to chocolate milk. Now when I return home from work on Fridays, I am just hoping that their meals for the day did not only consist of Reeses and chocolate milk. It is cute when he asks for them, but I don't give in like his dad. I guess I will have to be the mean parent.

Justin does not work on Fridays, so he gets to play Mr. Mom once a week while I am at work. My first Friday back to work, he tells me he is taking Parker to the lake. Needless to say, I was a bit freaked out. I said plenty of prayers that morning for their safety. They have since gone a few more times and have returned home safely each time.

Gimbel update

I know I am the worse blogger ever. I truly have tried to sit down numerous times to update my blog. I know it is hard to believe. I am amazed at all of your creativity. I will make it a goal to do better.

It has been a crazy last few months. In May, we moved in with my parents and started renting out our house. In August we moved into our new house just before I had to go back to work. Over the summer I also found out I was pregnant. It's a girl and I am due in February. So, between moving, starting work, being a mom and wife, I have been busy- no lie.

I know it has taken me forever to update my blog, but I finally did it. Just accept it won't be as cute or creative as some of yours. After going to work and then coming home to be mom and wife, I just find other things to do. I will try and be better. It will also help now that I have the internet, which was the main reason for slacking.

Parker is 17 months now and keeps me plenty busy!! He loves to get into anything and everything. He loves to play with balls and refers to anything round as a ball. He loves to wrestle and thinks he is one of the big kids when his cousins are around. He is very funny and always getting into mischief.

It has been so much fun being ome with Parker for the summer. He is growing up so fast as I am sure all mother say. He has his top two teeth and his bottom two teeth. He is quickly getting around the house as he has his own way of crawling. He also wants to climb and pull himself up on everything. Now I have to keep a close eye on where he is going and what he is putting in his mouth.

Here are some pictures of Parker. For those I haven't told, he was born on December 29,2006. He weighed 7.5 lbs and was 21 inches long. At last week's doctors appointment he weighed 11.5lbs and was 24 inches long. Now that I have been introduced to this site, I will try and keep it updated as best as I can.
